LOCATION:

East Side

TOUR TYPE:

nature, trekking

HOUR:

3.5h

Join an unforgettable journey led by Shoko Nagamitsu, a prominent wild boar hunter and culinary researcher based in Hiroshima. This tour offers a profound exploration into the Japanese spirit and their relationship with food and nature through trekking and Gibier (wild game) cuisine.

During the trekking portion, we will focus on the critical role wild boars play in the forest ecosystem, and delve into the concept of Satoyama—the vital cultural landscape between mountain and plain—and the natural cycle that is deeply important to Japan. Learn about the forest's dynamics guided by a professional hunter's perspective.

For lunch, savor a special meal prepared by Mrs. Nagamitsu herself, featuring wild boar harvested by her and organic, pesticide-free vegetables grown locally. While enjoying the abundant flavors of the forest, we will engage in discussions covering:

・The Japanese approach to food: Understanding the meaning of "Itadakimasu" (receiving life).
・The unique culture of Japanese kitchen knives.
・The importance of a harmonious relationship with nature.

This experience is designed to be a memorable, hands-on learning opportunity that connects you directly with the source of life and the deep-rooted cultural values of Japan.
